PowerTap Adds Single-Sided Pedal to Pedal Power Portfolio
Last year Wisconsin-based cycling power meter manufacturer, PowerTap, took the cycling world by storm when they expanded their power meter product line to include the P1 pedals. This year they're bringing a more affordable version of the most sophisticated cycling power meter ever created – the P1S Single-Sided Pedal.
The P1S Single-Sided Pedal features a gauged left pedal and non-gauged right, and like other unilateral power meters doubles the value of the single side to get total power. The name "P1S" is representative of what these pedals are all about, with the "S" standing for single-sided, and the functionality deriving from the desire to further open the door into the world of power training. Created for the cost-conscious cyclist, the PowerTap Single-Sided Pedal offers the same industry-leading accuracy from the company that's been bringing the best power meters to market for the last 17 years.
"While not as good as their bi-lateral brother, the P1 pedals, the PowerTap Single-Sided Pedal is a great option to enjoy the simplicity and versatility that P1 users have grown to love," said PowerTap product manager Justin Henkel. "And if down the road a cyclist decides they want bi-lateral measurement, the PowerTap Single-Sided Pedal will be upgradeable to a dual-side power meter. There is no better way to introduce someone to power."
Retail price for the PowerTap Single-Sided Pedal is $699 USD and will be available in late 2016. For up-to-date information on when the PowerTap Single-Sided Pedal will be available near you, please contact your local dealer or country's PowerTap distributor.
