PowerTap Drops Hub Prices and Increases Connectivity
New Pricing and Features Added for New Year
PowerTap, the Madison-based cycling power meter manufacturer, starts the New Year off with a bang and pushes their way past the competition yet again with lower prices and great connectivity on their flagship G3 hub platform.
With the announcement and release of two new power meter platforms in the last nine months, PowerTap pushes their way past the competition yet again with the announced G3 hub pricing change. The G3 is renowned as one of the most accurate and reliable power meters available, and can now add the "best value" to its accolades as well. Prices will now start at $599 USD for the G3 and GS hubs.
The new, lower price comes with the benefit of enhanced connectivity in theform of a dual band PowerCap, giving riders the choice of connecting to either ANT+ cycling computers or Bluetooth Smart devices. The dual band PowerCap will come standard on almost the entire hub line-up, and be offered as an upgrade option for existing G3 or GS hub owners.
"PowerTap's success rests heavily on the shoulders of the hub, and recent additions to the portfolio doesn't mean that is changing," said PowerTap Product Manager, Justin Henkel. "The PowerTap hub is still one of the best power meters available and will be part of the PowerTap portfolio for a long time to come."
The new pricing model will take effect January 1, 2016.
